The Progressive Corporation 2011 Annual Report

Client: The Progressive Corporation
The Progressive Group of Insurance Companies, in business since 1937, is one of the country’s largest auto insurance groups, the largest seller of motorcycle policies, and a market leader in commercial auto insurance based
on premiums written.

Personalization is an important theme in Progressive’s philosophy of customer interaction. For the 2011 annual report, Progressive commissioned digital artist Aaron Koblin to express this theme as his work utilizes crowd-sourced data to reflect on cultural trends and the changing relationship between humans and technology. In The Single Lane Superhighway, drivers were invited to create personal interpretations of their cars. These cars were collected on an interactive website, which joined Progressive’s collection of contemporary art.

An interactive version of this annual report can be found at progressive.com.

This project was conceived by Nesnadny + Schwartz in collaboration with Michelle Moehler Design.
